I've owned razer (pre switch change), Logitech, and Corsair keyboards and there was always something that pissed me off. Razer had great software and the coolest integrations but quality for price nosedived a while back. (I don't know why I bought the kiyo webcam. Autofocuses breaks every few months but the damn Logitech wasn't available.)
Logitech wow'd me with their hardware but the software experience has consistently been the worst.
Corsair has been middle of the road. I've owned a couple and after a few years they both started double registering. Totally reasonable wear and tear, but they aren't exactly worth opening to deep clean.
Then the wooting. I feared I was sacrificing feel for the new hall effect switches but there is no compromise in this keyboard. I'm making this review because I remembered how much it does right just by watching others do it wrong. I saw a review with no removable cable and proprietary keystems for optical switches and I just feel glad to have this.
I downloaded software months ago, set some settings and then just... Uninstalled it. I don't have to worry about background crap bogging down my computer (don't laugh, Asus aura has been a thorn in my side for a long time)
I don't know. I just really like it. I've spent several hundred dollars on black keyboards with RGB features and this is the one that makes me feel like my quest is over for good. I may have lowered my standards over time because of logitech's shitty software, but this keyboard is a breath of fresh air.
It's invisible to my experience of my computer. No disruptive sound. No irritations with hardware or software. No problems. Ever.
